Failed air injection pump or valves 2008–2011
What to check: Look for a check-engine light, and ask whether the air injection pump or switching valves were replaced under Toyota's extended cover.
Water in the pump and valves sets the check-engine light. Toyota extended the cover on these parts to 10 years or 150,000 miles for some 2011s, and Tundra Headquarters reports the same for 2008–2010 Sequoias.

Frame rust All years One source so far
What to check: Look over the frame from end to end, above all in salt states.
Autotrader names frame rust as a concern on the 2nd gen as well as the 1st.
