Tesla Model 3 2017–2026

This page is a draft. It has not been approved yet, so read it with care.

Silver Metallic and Obsidian Black are the colours to hunt on an early car. On any car built before the 2024 refresh, listen for a creak from the front suspension, make sure the heat works, and get a battery health report. On a 2024 or 2025 car, try the turn-signal buttons on the wheel before you buy.

Sources

The specs, colours and year changes here are facts from Edmunds, Wikipedia and the motoring press, with paint codes from TeslaTap alone. The recalls are Tesla's own, from NHTSA's records for every model year from 2017 to 2026. The claims and issues are reputation, from Edmunds, the press and one owner forum thread, and none is measured against sale prices yet. Tesla changes the car in the middle of model years, so dates in the sources do not always line up with each other.
